Storyline
A group of artists of many ethnicities struggle to keep the art of flamenco alive in Los Angeles. The documentary is divided into three \"letras\" or flamenco poems written hundreds of years ago. Narrator is Bruce Bisenz, a retired Hollywood sound mixer who photographs the flamencos for free. Includes the history of flamenco and an inside look at what drives these artists to devote their lives to flamenco despite little hope of glory or money. Broke as they are, they put on a show to benefit the victims of the tsunami in Japan. Through interviews & performance, we learn the power of community as flamenco is a group art in a city of solo celebrity.
